Manny Piñol finally talks about his resignation as DA chief

- However, President Rodrigo Duterte reportedly offered a different position for Piñol

Sec. Manny Piñol has finally talked about his resignation as the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

KAMI learned that Piñol said the media would be hearing less comments from him following his resignation.

"To my friends in the media, President Rody Duterte has described me as ‘just talkative,’ so there will be less audio coming from my side from now on,” Piñol said.

“I am a soldier of the President and I believe that a warrior does not choose the battle fields nor the battle,” he added.

In a report by CNN Philippines, Piñol explained on Facebook that he submitted his resignation through Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go. He added that he will not issue any more statement regarding the matter.

Go explained that the resignation of Piñol came after some Cabinet members blamed the latter over the rice shortage experienced in the country last 2018.

President Rodrigo Duterte has reportedly rejected the resignation of Piñol and decided to appoint him as the head of the Mindanao Development Authority.

In a previous report by KAMI, Piñol met with the local fishermen who were involved in a collision with a Chinese fishing vessel. However, it received a backlash after many speculations have risen after their meeting.
