Christine Silawan was murdered most likely at around 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 based on the CCTV footage that was recovered and according to the results of the medico-legal examination of NBI in Central Visayas.
According to a report by Delta Dyrecka C. Letigio of Cebu Daily News, the 17-year-old suspect became a person of interest because he was the last person seen with Silawan. They were spotted together after the 6:00 p.m. Mass in a Barangay Pajac church.
With this development on the case of the gruesome murder, the NBI-7 still does not consider the case closed as they are still looking into the possibility that the suspect had accomplices.
According to Francis Señora of the NBI-7 Cybercrime Division, the suspect could not have been alone. He did not disclose though if the suspect admitted to the crime.
Señora, however said that the suspect admitted having a romantic involvement with Silawan.
Christine Silawan was the 16-year-old girl who was found at a grassy lot in Barangay Bankal in Lapu-lapu City on March 11, Monday. She was half-naked, with half of her face skinned to the bone and several internal organs missing.
