Manila Water urges its consumers not to waste the brownish water coming out of their faucets. They explained that the color of the water came from the minerals which have settled at the bottom of the pipes which were not used for a long time after days of water supply interruption.

They said the water is safe to use according to the company.

According to the Manila Water, the water could be used in flushing the toilet, watering the plants or even could be used when taking a bath.

A Facebook user named Leo Alexis Ecijan posted a video showing the brownish water coming out from the tap.

.According to a report by CNN Philippines, Manila Water said that water supply interruptions will only last for hours and will not last throughout summer since they have implemented a rotational water supply scheme.

Metro Manila residents took to social media airing their disappointment over the water supply interruption. Some places even experienced having no water supply for days. A conversation thread recently went viral after a netizen who claimed to have worked for MWSS for years revealed about the alleged anomaly amidst the water supply shortage.

Manila Water however clarified that there is no truth to these claims and stressed that the bypass is open contrary to what the netizen was claiming.
