Updates on Chokoleit's funeral in Davao; his remains set to be cremated today

The remains of Chokoleit or Jonathan Aguilar Garcia arrived in his hometown of Davao City last March 15, Friday. His family and friends have visited his wake at the Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel.

Chokoleit’s final memories with his loved ones were shared by his closest friends. Allan Tiongson, one of the late comedian’s friends, revealed why it was hard for Chokoleit to go back to Davao City, “The last time na nagkita kami ni Chokoleit noong pagkamatay ng kaniyang mother that was a year ago.

“Sabi niya, ayaw niya bumalik sa Davao kasi nasasaktan siya sa memories ng kaniyang mother.”

KAMI learned that Bayani Agbayani who recently attended the PDP-Laban rally in Davao also visited the wake of Chokoleit and shared his final conversation with him.

Bayani revealed that, “Last na nakausap ko siya, lumapit siya sa akin tapos may binulong siya. Sabi niya, "'Yani tuwang-tuwa ako kasi nakikita uli kita sa TV. Ang galing-galing mo sa, "I Can See Your Voice." Sabi niya, galingan ko pa para magtuloy-tuloy na ang TV ko lagi.”

Chokoleit’s family also expressed their gratitude towards the people who have shown their support and love for the comedian.

According to ABS-CBN News, Chokoleit will be cremated today, March 17, at 2PM. His mother’s urn will also be placed alongside him in the columbarium at the Davao Memorial Park.

As reported earlier by KAMI, the remains of the late comedian Chokoleit were brought to a funeral home in Antipolo Rizal. A video of Vice Ganda, Pokwang, K Brosas, and Pooh while paying their respects went viral. It garnered countless comments from netizens.

Chokoleit was born on June 25, 1972. He starred in several Kapamilya shows such as 'Marina', 'Mara Clara', 'Aryana', and 'Asintado'.
