GirlTrends member Sammie Rimando has finally opened up about the rumors of her breakup with Arjo Atayde, amidst speculation of the actor dating Maine Mendoza.
KAMI learned that Sammie confirmed that she and Arjo are no longer a couple.
PUSH reports that in an interview with Hotspot’s Dj Jhai Ho, the 20-year-old star said that they have decided to break up so that they could focus on their respective careers.
“It’s for the better naman po. Napagdesisyunan namin na, sa ngayon, focus muna ako sa career ko din.
“Siya din, happy rin ako para sa kanya. Ang dami niyang projects. Syempre, andoon pa rin po yung full support ko para sa kanya,” she explained, according to PUSH.
However, she said that they are still friends despite having broken up.

This confirmation seems to make way for the speculation that Arjo is now dating Maine after being seen together in public a few times.
Maine and Arjo were first seen together at a restaurant in Makati. They were then spotted in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Both actors will star in the upcoming comedy action movie “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.” It will be released nationwide in December as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
