Gelli de Belen & Ariel Rivera admit changes of their sons who are staying abroad

Pinay actress Gelli de Belen admitted that she and husband Ariel Rivera have noticed some changes with their sons, Joaqui and Julio.

KAMI learned that the two siblings are staying abroad to fulfill their dreams of finishing college.

The two boys just go to the Philippines and stay with their parents for few weeks during summer when classes are out.

Despite the limited time to be together, Gelli proudly shared that her sons have made a lot of positive changes.

She revealed that her sons with actor Ariel have learned to become more independent and responsible which Gelli considers as a big achievement.

"You know what, kung meron man akong pinagpapasalamat, ang laki ng pinagbago nilang dalawa simula nang tumira sila dun,” she explained in an interview with PEP.ph.

"Siyempre, hindi mo naman masisisi dahil nandiyan ako, may pagka-spoiled. Pero ngayon, independent na sila, may pagka-responsible. Lalo na yung panganay,” the veteran actress added.

When asked if their sons already have girlfriends, Gelli immediately responded that Joaqui and Julio are still not in boyfriend-girlfriend relationships now.

Although she and Ariel do not hinder their boys to be in love affairs, the Iskalawag star wants her two teenagers to focus more on their studies and set aside unimportant things first.

"Basta kailangan lang talaga, yung focus nila yung pag-aaral. May mga girls silang gusto, ka-text. Pero gusto ko, mag-focus sila sa dapat nilang pag-focusan,” she uttered.

"Sabi nga ng tatay nila, 'Alam niyo boys, yung girls, palaging nandiyan. Focus on whatever you need to focus and finish it. The girls will always be there and if you have something to stand for, meaning nakapagtapos ka ng pag-aaral, mas maraming girls,'" she reiterated.

Joaqui, the eldest, is currently taking up Aviation while Julio is determined to finish Kinesiology.
