Banana Sundae star Badji Mortiz just had a successful kidney transplant.

KAMI learned that for the past few weeks he has been in and out of the hospital for dialysis.

After his operation, the actor-director posted a series of snaps on his Instagram account. He thanked the doctors and nurses for taking care of him, "Nurses of the renal unit visited me today. Thanks again for taking care of me."

According to PUSH, he is currently confined in St. Luke’s Medical Center at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Badji posted this photo with his kidney donor and wrote a special message for him, "Special thanks to this man..who donated his kidney for me. Napakalaki ng utang ng loob ko sayo. Lubos na nagpapasalamat ang buong pamilya ko sayo. Stay blessed qnd healthy bro greggy! See u when i get out! Qgqin. Thank you and God bless!"

"With some of the lovely nurses who took care for me at st lkes global renal dept for more than a year! Thanks a lot! Mamimiss ko kayo!," he wrote.

Badji Mortiz is part of the ABS-CBN gag show 'The Banana Sundae' and he is also the son of director Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz. Aside from being an actor, he is also a director and writer known for Luv U (2012), Maria la del Barrio (2011) and Beauty and the Bestie (2015).
