6 Famous Filipino TV news reporters who got involved in controversies
Reporters and journalists are usually the ones who deliver the controversial news about other people.
However, KAMI learned that some of them have been involved in controversies as well.

1. Atom Araullo
Atom made headlines when he made a sudden transfer from ABS-CBN to GMA Network. However, he got into a bigger controversy when he decided to take part in the comeback movie of director Mike de Leon.
The director accused Atom of being a narcissist, selfish and a bad actor. Atom responded by talking about Mike’s supposed troubled behavior.
2. Korina Sanchez
Korina was slammed on social media by Kris Aquino for featuring the latter’s ex-husband James Yap in a positive light as a father to his child with new partner Michela Cazzola.
Before the feature was aired, Kris has already been accusing James of being a negligent father to their son Bimby Yap.
3. Mel Tiangco
ABS-CBN suspended Mel from TV Patrol when she appeared in a TV commercial, which is not allowed without permission from the network. This prompted her to transfer to GMA-7.
She was then sued by the Kapamilya network since she had a non-competitive clause in her contract. However, Mel was still able to win the case.
4. Bernadette Sembrano
Bernadette walked out of a news program of GMA-7 when her story about the lifestyle check of Efraim Genuino was discarded. Six months later, she transferred to ABS-CBN.
5. Ces Drilon
Ces was suspended by ABS-CBN for going to Sulu despite orders not to go there. Her decision to disobey the orders led to her and her two cameramen to be kidnapped by terrorists. They were released after nine days of captivity.
6. Karen Davila
The Kapamilya newscaster was criticized for supposedly being too aggressive during her interview with Alma Moreno, who was running for Senator. Alma was also criticized for not being able to answer Karen’s questions about the relevant issues in the country.
