Eric Quizon finally airs his side amid the controversy surrounding the alleged Dolphy Lifetime Achievement Award that Vice Ganda would be receiving.
KAMI saw that the director stated that the award was not exactly a "Lifetime Achievement" award but it's a different one.
The director clarified in a Pep report that it was actually a "Dolphy Comedy King Award."
What Eric was trying to say that what Vice Ganda would be receiving is not a Lifetime Achievement but a Dlphy Comedy King award.
The only thing that they wanted was that the process would be in order and that there must be a research and a survey involved.
“Sabi ko sa kanila, pagkatapos ng research saka ng survey… who seems to be deserving, I would give my recommendation.
"Ganun yun. Ganun yung process namin.
"Research, yung survey, yun ang in-abide ko.
"Kaya lang, based on the survey, wala talagang lumabas kundi si Vice lang.”
No list of comedians was given to them because if there would be, then it would no longer be a citation but a competition, which is not the essence of the whole award.
“I don’t want to have... na magkaroon ng issue na pinagpilian, e. Ayoko ng ganun.
"As what I said, it’s not a contest.
"It’s a citation. It’s a recognition.
“We are recognizing the works of comedians based on current work,” said the son of the late Comedy King.
So the director has somehow cleared things up. What Vice will receive is not a "lifetime achievement" award.
