Halos mamatay na raw talaga sila! Ehra Madrigal and husband Tom Yeung recall tragic boat incident in Antique

- Ehra Madrigal and husband Tom Yeung faced the media for the first time after the tragic boat accident happened in Antique last Maundy Thursday

- Ehra and Tom are with friends Mayor Jonathan Tan and actress Bianca Manalo who also survived the accident

- The actress recalled every detail happened during the horrible boat incident

A week after the tragic boat incident in Antique happened last March 29, maundy Thursday, Actress Ehra Madrigal finally spoke up along with husband Tom Yeung.

News5 entertainment reporter MJ Marfori had a chance to have an exclusive interview with the couple on April 5 which KAMI learned from pep.

Ehra narrated every single detail that she can remember from the incident.

According to the actress, everything happened really fast.

“Nung nag-sink yung boat, parang everything happened so fast.

"Tapos nakita ko na pumasok na lahat nung water sa boat, parang nag-side siya na lulubog, parang tumingin pa ako.

“Parang may life vest, nakatali pa siya dun sa isang side.

"Parang it's too late na you can't get it, kasi parang almost half na...

"Nakalubog na talaga yung whole part nung boat, so ang instinct ko ay to jump, e.

"I even don't know how to swim.

“But, of course, parang di ko alam kong paano ako... ganun na automatic naman na nagpu-float ka, e [pag nasa water].

“I mean, hindi naman talaga ako swimmer, pero you will do whatever [way] for you to survive.

"So, yun, parang nag-swimming na lang kami.

"Tapos parang I can't hold on dun sa boat, kasi parang dumudulas siya."

Then she actually saw one passenger died.

“'Tapos, parang lumipat na lang ako sa harapan.

“'Tapos, yung namatay, si Kuya Benny [was] beside me, I was still talking to him.

"Parang, sabi ko, 'Kuya Benny, kapit ka lang.'

"Parang, I asked him, 'Kuya, marunong ka ba mag-swimming?'

“Sabi niya, hindi daw.

“So, pinakalma ko siya. Ini-instinct ko na, 'Okay, sige...'

She even tried to communicate more with Bernie even more just to pacify him for he was so nervous the whole time.

"Kinakabahan rin ako, Kuya, kasi hindi rin ako marunong mag-swimming.

"Kasi baka mamaya hilahin niya ako, e, o kaya baka mag-panic siya.

"But the whole time, he was so... sobra siyang kinakabahan, talagang takot na takot na siya."

After several minutes, Kuya Benny died.

According to Ehra, Bernie felt chest pains minutes before he died.

“'Tapos parang sumisigaw na siya na, 'Woooo, hindi ko na 'to kaya, hindi ko na kaya!'

“Sabi ko, 'Hindi, Kuya, kaya 'yan.'

"Ta's yung next niya, parang lumalabo na yung paningin ko and I got scared.

"Tapos bigla kong na-visualize na I saw my dad in the hospital bed, lifeless, and then 'tapos biglang may mamamatay ulit.”

Ehra's dad passed away 2 weeks before this boat tragedy because of some complications with his liver and kidney.

'Tapos, parang natakot ako.

"Tapos, I have to calm myself down, kasi hindi ako dapat pangunahan ng takot, e.

"Kasi, kung hindi, any moment bibigay ka or because of the waves, puwede kang anurin, hindi dahil sa lunod kundi dahil sa waves and everything [puwede ka mamatay]…"

Tom Yeung, Ehra's husband said that there is no one to blame.

The couple even added that they were too complacent that nothing wrong would happened.

"Siguro we can't blame anyone naman, kasi wala namang may gusto na maaksidente.

"But if ngayon, kung iisipin mo talaga, siguro ngayon, if things should have been different or mas maiiwasan yung ganito...

"Kung mado-double check lahat, weight namin, yung weather... Kasi okay, e, sobrang maaraw.

"Or kung meron bang may radyo dun [sa mga naiwan], pero wala kaming radyo."

The couple also went on a debriefing to lessen their trauma from the incident.

Ehra and husband Tom are with Antique Mayor Jonathan Tan and girlfriend Bianca Manalo.

They were supposed to visit Mararison island, one of the tourist's spots in Antique

Unfortunately, the speedboat they were riding was capsized by big waves
