The Social Security System (SSS) pensioners are required to undergo yearly verification.
However, Annual Confirmation of Pensioners Program or ACOP makes it hard for caregivers and relatives of disabled and bedridden pensioners.
Just like the case of an old lady being carried by her daughter for the annual confirmation of SSS pensioners, which was reported by Definitely Filipino.
The name of the old lady is Estella Sarmiento, 82 years old, from Cavite.
A concerned fellow jeepney passenger, Jarra Cortez Garcia, took a photo of Nanay Estella and her daughter and shared it on social media.

Apparently, SSS already changed their rules regarding ACOP, wherein disabled and bedridden pensioners doesn't have to present themselves physically.
But family members should be able to provide documents such as 'Certificate of Existence' from the Barangay Chairman, Medical Certificate, and sketch of residence.
