The Philippine movie industry has a lot of veteran actors who contributed so much in making the industry meaningful.

One of these actors is Spanky Manikan who sadly passed away on January 14, 2018 at 11:41 A.M.

Spanky battled with the dreaded disease of lung cancer and his friends even organized a "Sunday for Spanky" in August to help raise funds for his medical needs.

He was originally part of GMA's "My Love from the Star" which starred Jennylyn Mercado and Gil Cuerva.

However, he was replaced as Mr. Jang due to his worsening illness.

The news of his death was made public by his wife, Susan Africa through her manager, Ed Instrella.

Manikan will be a huge loss to the Philippine movie industry as he has been a very effective actor.

Spanky Manikan was 75 years old when he died of lung cancer.

He is best remembered for his stellar acting skills in the films "Himala," Bona," "Broken Marriage," and "Maynila sa Kuko ng Liwanag."

His wife, Susan Africa, is also among the best actresses that the PH movie industry has.
