Just In: ASEAN Music Festival cancelled as people faint from overcrowding

KAMI obtained an information about the cancellation of ASEAN Music Festival cancellation from Rappler.

The Music Festival for The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was reportedly cancelled due to overcrowding.

The festival was supposed to be held at Ayala Triangle, Makati.

People had began passing out according to reports.

"Kasi hindi ma-kontrol 'yung crowd, pina-cancel na ng organizer," said the Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Gerardo Umayao to Rappler in a phone interview.

Organizers of the event said, “For reasons of public safety, we have stopped the show. People are slowly leaving the venue to go home. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.”

Photos of the event began circulating the net as it showed an enormous crowd.

A Twitter user under the handle name @leigolena said people started to grow rowdy during Parokya ni Edgar band performance.

Some Twitter users narrated how they witness people fainting and others suffered nosebleed.

A press release earlier revealed a crowd of over 5,000 is expected to attend the event.
