Actor Richard Yap has revealed that he personally knew University of Santo Tomas (UST) law freshman Horacio Castillo III, who died in a hazing incident during the weekend.

KAMI learned about the actor’s emotional interview from ABS-CBN News.

Richard personally knew the deceased student through his daughter.

He spoke about the hurt he felt because he could empathize with Horacio’s parents.

Some members of the Aegis Juris fraternity are being investigated for the crime.

"For a parent, grabe iyong sakit. Nararamdaman mo sa tatay niya kung gaano kasakit na iyong anak mo na inalagaan mo ay papatayin lang just like that, for no reason at all."

The actor urged the people responsible for Horacio’s death to surrender to the authorities.

"I think they should all come forward and tell the family what happened. I don't think you can live with whatever you've done. It would be very cowardly for you to do that.

"Hurting people in the name of brotherhood is not brotherhood. It's just violence so own up to what you did," he pointed out.
