During her interview with the “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” team ahead of her contract renewal as a Sparkle GMA Artist Center artist, Heart revisited the statement she made while hosting “The People Have Spoken.”

Heart explained that when she referred to “friends,” she meant people who are genuinely close and meaningful to her, rather than simply having a large number of acquaintances.

She said, “Ang ibig sabihin ko, if I can explain, I'd rather have a handful of friends than an army of acquaintances. 'pag sinabi mo kasing friends, parang friends lang. Pero iba 'yung 'pag trinato mo ng pamilya.”

Heart then clarified that she would take back her original answer if given the chance, saying she would rather have her family and true friends than a large amount of money.

She added, “Pero sa totoo lang, para sa akin, babawiin ko 'yun. I'd rather have my family and my real friends than a lot of money.”

Heart also acknowledged that having both financial success and meaningful relationships would be ideal, adding, “Pero kung sabay, okay din.”

After the “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” team played the clip of Heart clarifying her viral statement, Boy acknowledged her explanation and noted that such remarks can sometimes be made in jest.

Boy then pointed out that it is possible to value both financial success and meaningful relationships, emphasizing that both require effort.

“But it's nice to have both, 'di ba? You work hard for the money and then you work hard at friendships. Importante 'yan.”
