Actress and comedienne Tuesday Vargas took to Facebook to share her strong reaction to the controversial remarks made by Quezon City 4th District Representative Bong Suntay involving actress Anne Curtis.

In a lengthy post released during Women’s Month, Tuesday said she was shocked by the lawmaker’s comments, describing them as dehumanizing and reflective of outdated attitudes toward women.

Sexualizing women in everyday, nonsexual contexts reinforces the false idea that women are always available for consumption.

While some argue that attraction is natural, sabi nga nya ‘dapat nga matuwa pa siya kasi I gave her a compliment na maganda siya’, the reduction of a person to a mere object of lust—ignoring their humanity—is the core of the ethical issue.

Suntay later issued an apology and clarified that he had never personally met Curtis and that his statement was meant only as an analogy.

In a TikTok video, she suggested that controversial remarks made by Alvin might stem from unresolved trauma from his past. She reminded viewers that individuals should confront their own wounds so they do not pass the pain onto others. Her message came in response to Alvin’s viral interview where he commented on parents who support their LGBTQIA+ children and made other remarks involving the SexBomb Girls.
