Kapuso comedienne and TV host Pokwang reacted to the finger heart gesture made by controversial contractor Sarah Discaya.
She and her husband Curlee visited the Department of Justice on Saturday, September 27, to submit requirements for their Witness Protection Program (WPP) application.
WPP is designed to protect individuals facing threats while sharing sensitive information.
However, inclusion in the program does not automatically mean they are state witnesses.

As Discaya entered the DOJ headquarters, she flashed a finger heart to the waiting media reporters.
She even joked with netizens to make good memes out of her gesture, saying gandahan n’yo ‘yong memes ko.
Pokwang, known for her candid views on corruption issues, shared a screenshot of the gesture on her Instagram story.
She edited the image by adding dirt and flies above the finger heart sign. Her caption read: gandahan daw ang memes??????? Hahahhaahaha.
Meanwhile, DOJ Spokesperson Mico Clavano said the gesture and remarks may be considered in reviewing the couple’s WPP application.
According to him, such behavior showed insincerity and complacency. He urged all persons of interest in the case to act properly.
Clavano explained that those seeking protection should show sincerity, especially when their safety and credibility are on the line.
The finger heart moment sparked online reactions, with many questioning the seriousness of Discaya’s intentions.
Pokwang’s post added fuel to the conversation, reflecting public frustration and humor in dealing with a sensitive issue.

Marietta Subong, or Pokwang, is among the most well-loved comediennes in the industry. Her frank and motherly ways are always "patok" among Filipinos. She used to be with ABS-CBN but moved to GMA during the pandemic. Some of her popular movies are Call Center, A Mother’s Story, and Edsa Woolworth. She has two daughters, Mae and Malia. Her split with Lee O'Brian has caused a buzz on social media.
In a previous report by KAMI, Pokwang joined Catholics in celebrating Mama Mary’s birthday by posting a prayer on Instagram Stories. She shared a clip of her home altar, featuring statues of the Blessed Vìrgìn Mary, the Child Jesus, and other saints, adorned with flowers, and a candle. The comedienne paired the short video with a heartfelt prayer for the country.
Earlier, Pokwang revealed on social media that she has been overworking despite being sick. She linked her struggles to the comfort and luxury enjoyed by unnamed individuals who flaunt their lavish lifestyles online. The actress-comedienne also encouraged such people not to deactivate their social media accounts, adding, “para alam ng taong bayan na napapasaya namin kayo.” Her message surfaced as public frustration over social inequality and corruption remains a heated issue. In recent weeks, netizens have pointed out how families of politicians and government contractors allegedly live in comfort—traveling abroad, flaunting luxury items, and enjoying privileges—while ordinary workers face daily struggles.
