Explaining the significance of "Raya," Yasmien revealed that it is a fusion of her name, her husband Rey's, and their first child Ayesha's. Additionally, the name draws inspiration from its meaning, signifying both "Queen" and "Friend," as well as a nod to the film "Raya and the Last Dragon."

The second part of her daughter's name, "Layla,” came from the Arabic word "Layl," meaning "night" or "dark." Yasmien fondly recalled her grandmother from her father's side, who passed away during the pandemic, as the inspiration behind this choice. Her grandmother's culinary expertise and nurturing nature left a lasting impact, making "Layla" a tribute to her legacy.
