"I understand that people call my performance blasphemous, offensive or regrettable. However, they shouldn’t tell me how I practice my faith or how I do my drag. That performance was not for you to begin with. It is my experience and my expression, of having been denied my rights."

A drag party is a type of social gathering where drag artists impersonating men or women would often show their prowess. Drag artists, such as drag queen Pura Luka Vega, would usually wear clothing and makeup to imitate present or historical personalities to the point of exaggeration for entertainment. Drag queens would also often perform pre-planned acts with audience interaction.

Recently, Philippine Senator JV Ejercito took to Twitter and aired his dismay over a video that has gone viral. He stated that it was blasphemy, it disrespects his faith and that things have gone overboard. The video showed a drag party, where Jesus was imitated. Around him, partygoers were singing a fast version of "Ama Namin."

In some cases, drag queens would impersonate a popular living person to entertain the audience. Such was the case of Xilhouete when she impersonated popular cosmetic doctor, Dr. Vicki Belo. After learning about the performance of Xilhouete, the celebrity doctor took to social media to react to the drag queen's clip impersonating her. Dr. Vicki said she was flattered because "I know you have to be famous to be impersonated." The prominent dermatologist also hilariously clarified that she can move her face.
