Andrea Brillantes said on Friday, October 8, that her controversial “sikat na sila agad” statement was taken out of context.

It will be recalled that back in August, the 18-year-old star made headlines when she said she feels hurt whenever a newcomer manages to gain fame fast.

Following this news, KAMI learned that Andrea addressed this controversy in her latest interview with Boy Abunda.

According to Andrea, the viral “sikat na sila agad” statement was actually her mindset back when she was still a teenager.

“Ang naramdaman ko po is shock and super confused. Kasi po sa Gold Squad, tinanong ako kung ano yung mga ibang experiences as an artist na hindi ko nagugustuhan and then I answered yung nararanasan ko when I was 13. Lahat ng tao hindi alam yun kasi nagco-comment sila, akala nila yun yung mindset ko ngayon, but no.”

During the interview, Andrea revealed she did not read the comments and criticisms she faced for her statement.

“Hindi ko binasa yung comments, ang alam ko lang yun sinabi sakin ni mommy na marami raw nagsasabing inggitera ako, na immature ako, na selfish ako, na hindi ko rin maintindihan kasi first of all, wala akong sinabing na hindi nila ‘to deserve. I didn’t invalidate their success, their talent, their craft, all I said is masakit siya para sakin.”

At the end of their interview, Boy also gave a word of advice to Andrea regarding the issue but nevertheless said that her answer and the question she was asked were valid.

Andrea Brillantes is a Filipina actress who started out her career as a child star and rose to fame. Her popularity was further propelled when she played the role of 'Marga' in the hit teleserye "Kadenang Ginto".

As reported earlier by KAMI, Andrea Brillantes denied the assumption made by a netizen that she grew up rich.

Meanwhile, Andrea also made headlines when she revealed she used to be bullied a lot back when she was studying in school.
