Mariel Padilla recently expressed her support for Robin Padilla’s senatorial bid.
On her Instagram Stories, the television host posted a photo of her husband taken during his filing of certificate of candidacy for senator on Friday, October 8 at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel in Pasay City.
In the caption, Mariel clarified that the action is not hungry for money or power.
According to her, Robin decided to run to make a difference, put his complaints into action and to represent Muslim communities.

Robin Padilla is prominent action star and endorser in the Philippines. He is married to actress and television host Mariel Padilla. The actor has two children with Mariel – Isabella and Gabriela. He has other children from his previous relationships.
Robin will run for senator in next year’s election under the PDP-Laban Cusi wing. A couple of days ago, Energy Secretary and PDP-Laban President Alfonso Cusi confirmed that the actor is indeed running for senator under their party. Last week, Robin went live to share his thoughts and, at the same time, seek advice from those watching his stream whether he should run for senator or not A few hours before Cusi’s announcement that Robin will run, the actor took his oath as PDP-Laban member.
Previously, the actor has reacted to President Rodrigo Duterte’s announcement that he will be retiring from politics soon. The action star admitted that he got heartbroken that his desire for Go to be the President of the country and for Duterte to be his Vice President did not push through.
