Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto promised on Twitter that he will be frugal in campaigning for his re-election in the 2022 Election. He recently filed his Certificate of Candidacy with his parents, actors Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes.

According to Sotto, who is famous for his honesty and hard work as a politician, he would rather be called “kuripot” or “stingy” than be known as a thief.
He explained that people who spend a lot of money campaigning means that they might look for ways to earn back what they spent.
The beloved mayor added that what is important for him is that the Pasig taxpayers’ money is safe and will only be used for their benefit.

“HINDI pa rin tayo gagastos ng malaki. Tandaan- ang gagastos ng malaki sa kampanya, ay malaki rin ang babawiin. (Ok lang tawagin akong kuripot, at least hindi magnanakaw. Ang importante, nagagamit sa tama at ng buo ang pera ng taumbayan,” Sotto tweeted.
