Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto shared on social media that he recently donated blood to help save the lives of other people.
KAMI learned that the Pasig Mayor also encouraged other people to donate blood.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Sotto explained that government staff should set as an example in donating blood for a good cause.
“Ngayong pandemya, kumonti ang nagbibigay ng dugo,” he said.
“Napaka sakit mawalan ng mahal sa buhay dahil sa kakulangan ng dugo sa blood bank,” he added.
The mayor acknowledged that many people are worried about donating blood amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, they improved their blood-letting drives.
“Regular pa rin naman ang blood-letting drive ng LGU, pero siyempre maraming natatakot o di kaya mag-donate sa ngayon,” Sotto said.
“Because of this, we are stepping up our blood-letting drives. Dapat mauna tayong mga kawani ng pamahalaan,” he continued.
Vic Sotto is the son of TV host Vic Sotto and veteran actress Coney Reyes. He is being praised by many for his competence in leading Pasig City.
Earlier, Sotto revealed that traffic enforcers in Pasig distributed free face shield to those who do not have one yet because their new ordinance requires the use of face shields.
A netizen also shared on social media that the relief package being distributed in Pasig is a complete package from food to toiletries.
