“Pinapangako ko po na kailangan magsama-sama sila sa kulungan, nang sa ganun lumago ang ekonomiya at magkaroon ng pagbabago,” Sen. Pacquiao said.

Manny Pacquiao is an eight-division world boxing champion, considered one of the greatest boxers in history. He also found success as a politician, first becoming a congressman before getting elected as a senator. Manny is married to Jinkee Pacquiao, whom he called his best friend.

Sen. Pacquiao was the very first among “presidential aspirants” to file his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for next year’s elections. He was with Buhay Partylist Representative and former Manila mayor Lito Atienza, whom the former boxer chose to be his running-mate for VP. Many were surprised at the presence of Rep. Atienza and the eventual revelation that he is going to be Manny’s running-mate. According to the senator, he based his decision on choosing Atienza as running-mate on the latter’s experience and track record in public service.

Two days ago, he announced that he would file his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for president in next year’s elections on the first day of October. He made good on that promise. Aboard a huge campaign bus with the words "Man of Destiny" emblazoned on its sides, Manny went to the COMELEC filing venue and submitted his COC. The campaign bus he rode on also captured the attention of the onlookers, not only because of its striking appearance but also because of the captions and slogans written all over it.
