Mahal, or Noemi Tesorero, has passed away this afternoon, August 31, at the age of 46. Her sister, Irene Tesorero, broke the news in a social media post. Prominent personalities then expressed their grief over the actress’s death. Among those celebrities are Jerald Napoles, Ken Chan, KaladKaren Davila, and Brenda Mage.

Irene, the sister of Mahal, revealed in a Facebook post that the cause of death of her sister is COVID-19. She said that there is no schedule yet for the burial of the comedienne due to COVID-19 restrictions. Mahal recently visited her long-time onscreen "partner" Mura and even signified that she would be helping him. She was also affected by the situation of Mura and said that she will be helping him.
