It can be recalled that John left ABS-CBN after being with the network for more than 27 years, having started there in 1990 with TV sitcom “Palibhasa Lalaki,” until he left in 2018 after an alleged rift with Mylene Dizon, his co-star in the series, “The Good Son.”

John signed an exclusive contract with GMA Network in May of that year.

He also had did show with TV5 called “John en Ellen,” though that show’s future is now cloudy after his co-star, Ellen Adarna, walked out from the set, perhaps for good.

The walkout issue also created a rift and eventual destruction of the years-long friendship that John had with Derek Ramsay, Ellen’s fiancé.
