- PH's women's boxer contender, Nesthy Petecio, will be bringing home another medal since she made it to the semifinals

- She beat Yeni Marcela Arias Cataneda of Colombia in the quarterfinals of the featherweight division on Wednesday

- The match took place at the Kokugikan Arena

- With her victory, she is now assured of bringing home a bronze medal

The Philippines may be gaining not just one, but two Olympic medals for this year as Filipina boxer Nesthy Petecio is assured of bringing home at least a bronze medal since she already made it to the semifinals women's featherweight division.

Petecio defeated Colombiás Yeni Marcela Arias Castaneda of Colombia via unanimous decision.

In all the scorecards of the judges, Petecio won, getting 30-27, 29-28, and 10-9, all in her favor.

This gives her an assured bronze medal in the said competition.

With Hidilyn Diaz's win and Petecio's, this will be the most Olympic medals that the Philippines wins since the 1932 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, USA.

Nesthy Petecio is a Filipina boxer. She has won a gold medal at the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships.

Meanwhile, Hidilyn Diaz, will not only come home with an Olympic gold medal but will be met with well-deserved rewards. She will be receiving P40.5M cash as pledged by government and private entities. The Olympian would also be the owner of several real estate properties. Foton also promised to give her a van and Phoenix also gave her free fuel for life.

She shared the awarding of Hidilyn Diaz who won the gold in the weightlifting 55kg in the recently concluded Olympics. The wife of Sen.
