Melissa Ricks replied to a comment of a netizen who noticed the actress might have gained some weight in one of her latest posts on Instagram.

The post in question was actually a TikTok video that was reposted on Instagram.

It showed Melissa drinking from a cup and mouthing the words being spoken on a voice clip.

The sound clip contained two heavily-accented voices with the first voice asking another why she gained weight and the second voice answering the question.

The video was meant to be humorous but some might have taken it seriously, prompting one netizen to ask Melissa why indeed did she appear to have gained weight.

“O nga.bat ka tumaba ulit?” the netizen asked.

The actress lost no time in answering the question of the netizen, saying that she’s happy with her body.

“Masaya ako, and i dont starve myself anymore,” Melissa replied to the netizen’s question.

Her answer appears to carry the message for everyone to accept themselves and be happy for who or what they are.

Melissa Marie Ricks-Macatangay, more popularly known as Melissa Ricks in the Philippine showbiz world, is a Filipino-American actress and model. She was born on January 9, 1990 to Kelly Ricks and Josie Ricks in Fontana, California, USA. Her father is the president and director of S&R Philippines. Melissa joined ABS-CBN’s reality talent search, Star Circle Quest in 2004. She was among the Magic Circle of 10 or the top 10 Questors. Following weeks of training, she managed to clinch a spot in the show’s Magic Circle of 5. During the Grand Questor’s Night, Melissa became the 4th runner-up. After the competition, she appeared as a guest in several ABS-CBN TV shows, especially in the youth-oriented series, SCQ Reload and ASAP Fanatic.

Last May, she informed her Instagram fans and followers through an IG Stories post that she has finally tied the knot with fiancé Michael Macatangay. The two announced their engagement in Batangas last August of 2020 in the presence of their loved ones.

A couple of days later, Melissa shared photos of their wedding, which happened in California, on social media. One netizen immediately noticed the absence of Keira, the daughter of Melissa on her special day. The question prompted the actress to reply and explain why her daughter was not present.
