Former Senator Bongbong Marcos has taken to social media to mourn over the passing of former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

On Thursday, June 24, Aquino made headlines due to reports that he was rushed to a hospital in Quezon City, particularly the Capitol Medical Center.

The former president then passed away at 61 years old after efforts to revive him failed.

In a Twitter post, Marcos joined the nation and Aquino family’s grieving following the heartbreaking news.

“The nation mourns together with the Aquino family at the passing of former President Noynoy Aquino. May you rest in peace,” Marcos tweeted.

Former Pres. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III was the 15th President of the Philippines. He ran for office after the death of his mother former Pres. Cory Aquino. His "Daang Matuwid" was the slogan of his term. He is also the brother of prominent television personality, Kris Aquino, also known as the Queen of All Media.

Senator Imee Marcos is currently mourning over the passing of her "classmate" in Congress, former Pres. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III. She took to Twitter to express her grief amid the heartbreaking news. The female politician also sent her condolences to the bereaved family of the late former president.

It was also recently reported that Kris Aquino has arrived at Capitol Medical Center where the former president was hospitalized and died. Kris was spotted in a video rushing into the said hospital but did not give a statement.
