Vico Sotto debunks viral post misquoting him: "hindi presidential elections ang topic”

- He said he was misquoted and he also clarified that his remark is not related to presidential elections

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto recently shed some light after his past statement made rounds on social media.

This was after a Facebook post claimed that his statement from an interview in May 2020 was his reaction to the possible presidential bid of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
The quoted statement reads:
“Kung magaling kang leader, mapapasa mo sa susunod na lider. Ibig sabihin, may continuity. Hindi ‘yung anak mo lang o ano. Hindi lang naman ang isang tao ang magaling eh. Hindi lang isang pamilya ang magaling. Let’s find the next generation of leaders who will be better than the leaders that we already had.”

Sotto then took to social media to clarify that the viral post had misquoted him.
“Ang quote na ito ay mula sa isang interview LAST YEAR (May 2020)... at hindi tungkol sa Presidential Elections ang tanong,” the Pasig City chief said.
