Catriona Gray recently promoted her new single R.Y.F. in a global media conference which aired on ABS-CBN Star Music last June 1, 2021.
In the media conference, the beauty queen candidly revealed the difficulties she faced when she came to the Philippines to start a career. According to Catriona, she wasn't given any work opportunities as she kept on being rejected which made her question herself.
“There’s been multiple points where I felt like giving up or I didn’t feel like I was good enough or capable enough.”

Catriona said that she began to muse "Am I not good enough? Don’t have I anything to offer?" after being her failures. She also shared that she felt like she was disappointing her family.
However, the singer was able to overcome these obstacles because of her strong faith in the Lord as a Christian. This also made her turn to volunteer work which paved the way for her to pageantry.
Her hard work, persistence, and resilience have paid off after the singer was crowned Miss Universe 2018 and became the fourth Filipina to have ever done so.

Catriona likewise got stunned that Rabiya was able to carry a heavy costume with such strength. Rabiya’s costume inspired by the Philippine flag has wings weighing 21 kgs.
