Bea Alonzo recently revealed in her vlog that John Lloyd Cruz saved her from embarrassment and humiliation when she ran out of funds during their trip to Dubai where they are supposed to perform in a show with Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go, Erik Santos, and many others.
Rufa Mae Quinto, isiniwalat kung gaano kahirap ang buhay niya sa America: “Ito lang ba ang bagsak ko?”
“The first time we ever went to Dubai, parang we had this show with The Champions pa at that time,” the actress recalled.
She was with her mom, Mary Ann Ranollo, when she went to the Middle-Eastern country.
On their first day, the group decided to visit the Gold Souk, which is the biggest and oldest gold arcade in Dubai.
“I was really jet-lagged, I was really tired. So sabi ko kay mama, hindi na ako sasama dun sa Gold Souk. Ako, natulog lang ako sa hotel. At this point, wala pa akong credit card nito,” Bea narrated.
Unfortunately, Bea’s mom didn’t realize she had used up their travel fund, including the talent fee that Bea received for the show they’re going to do in Dubai.
“When my mom arrived at the hotel, ang dami na niyang dalang alahas. Sabi niya, ‘Anak, isukat mo ito,’ ganyan-ganyan. And then meron din siya for my brother, for my lola… So nagtanong ako, ‘Asan na yung talent fee, Ma?’ Nagastos niya na lahat sa Gold Souk,” Bea revealed.
Fortunately, John Lloyd was there to save the day, or in this case, the week.
“So sa buong five days or one week namin sa Dubai, wala kaming pera. As in sumasama lang kami kay John Lloyd para magpalibre ng meals, ganyan,” Bea humorously recalled.
She said that they paid John Lloyd when they arrived in Manila.
