Rabiya Mateo posted a new update on Instagram as to where and how she is doing right now.

The Philippines’ bet to the recently concluded Ms. Universe 2020 is still in the US and is enjoying the respite after a particularly hectic week.

“I can’t believe it’s been one week already,” Rabiya wrote.

She also assured those who ask how she is not to worry as she’s doing fine.

“For those who were asking how am I, you have nothing to worry. I’m enjoying my mini vacay here in the US. Just few more days and I’ll be working again,” the Ilongga beauty queen wrote.

Rabiya also said that the gown that she’s wearing in her photo post is her gift to her hometown, Iloilo City.

She went on to explain that the details found at the bottom is related to Dinagyang festival, an annual celebration in Iloilo City.

“This orange gown was my gift to Iloilo City. The details at the bottom is connected to Dinagyang festival which we celebrate every January,” Rabiya revealed.

She said that she would have wanted to walk on the stage wearing the gown if she was able to qualify for the top ten.

“I was waiting for that moment, I’ve been trying to imagine myself walk in this gown if ever I enter the top 10. It didn’t happen but I am still blessed,” she said.

The Ilongga beauty queen also admitted getting heartbroken after she failed to make it to the top ten.

“It was heartbreaking at first but I realize every girl in the competition also made sacrifices and it’s all about destiny. That night wasn’t meant for me,” Rabiya said.

“I failed to bring home the crown but I gained the hearts of millions of Filipinos, and that makes me a winner. Salamat Pilipinas! Lalaban parin tayo sa buhay!” the Ilongga beauty queen proudly declared.

After everyone realized that Philippines’ Ms. Universe 2020 candidate Rabiya Mateo did not make it to the Top 10 contenders for the crown, netizens began trooping to social media platforms. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and many other platforms were on fire with crying emojis. On Twitter, beauty queen MJ Lastimosa cried for Rabiya, posting several crying emojis. Many Pinoys also chose to express their support and love for Rabiya online.

After the pageant night, however, it seemed that Rabiya is taking everything in a stride. In a statement she made though a video with Miss Bolivia, she said that her experience in her Ms U journey was filled with excitement and happiness. She also said that she was able to forge friendships with many candidates from other countries. While she was not able to bring home the fifth Ms Universe crown, she was able to clinch a spot in the Top 21.
