Miss Mexico Andrea Meza was crowned as the 69th Miss Universe, beating out 73 other beauty queens, including the Philippines’ Rabiya Mateo.
The pageant’s first runner-up is Brazil's Julia Gama, the second runner-up is Peru's Janick Maceta, the third runner-up is India's Adline Castelino, and the fourth runner-up is Dominican Republic's Kimberly Perez
KAMI learned that after Miss Mexico was announced as the winner, Peru's Janick Maceta was caught on camera getting emotional and trying to hold back her tears.
Many viewers agreed with the judges’ verdict but there were also many fans who preferred Janick.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant became controversial due to allegations of cheating. Miss Davao Alaiza Malinao defended the winner, Rabiya Mateo, saying that the cheating allegations against her are untrue.
