The Miss Universe pageant night is scheduled for May 16, 2021, or May 17 Philippine time, which is a Monday and a regular school day.

Because of the current health crisis, the government and private academic institutions were forced to conduct blended academic instructions, which are composed of online learning and modules.

Students are supposed to complete their modules at a given time and submit them to their professors.

However, one of these students might have thought that Miss Universe pageant night is more important than academic modules, hence his excuse letter.

“Hahaha ginawa nyo pang excuse si Ibyang ha! Tapusin nyo muna yang modules nyo mga veklaaaa hahahaha,” MJ captioned her repost.

The former beauty queen, in a separate post on her Instagram Stories, joked and then emphasized the importance of finishing all academic obligations first before anything else.

“Template for excuse letter on Monday sisters. LOL JK lang! Finish it early and pass it mga vaklan twoah!” MJ wrote.

Miss Universe 2020 will be the 69th edition of the Miss Universe competition. The global pandemic forced the Ms. Universe organization to cancel the events last year and move it to May 16, 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States.

Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event. Contestants from 74 countries and territories are expected to compete. The competition will be hosted by Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo; Lopez last served as host during Miss Universe 2007, while Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012. Paulina Vega and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will serve as expert analysts, and Cheslie Kryst will serve as a backstage correspondent; they had previously been crowned as Miss Universe 2014, Miss Universe 2017, and Miss USA 2019, respectively.

Rabiya Mateo recently shared a glimpse of her signature walk called “Halabira Walk.” She showed it in a couple of videos posted by ABS-CBN’s Dyan Castillejo who recently did a coverage on Rabiya’s preparation for Miss Universe pageant in May. Netizens then could not help commending the current Miss Universe Philippines title-holder’s stunning walk. The beauty queen from Iloilo named her walk “Halabira Walk” to pay tribute to her hometown’s Dinagyang Festiva.

A few weeks ago, Rabiya Mateo proved just how genuine she is by showing her bare face. Unlike her other photos that portray her as a glamorous individual, this particular post showed her in a simple white dress with no make up. She also gave a message about those who judge others through their outward appearances. Many netizens praised her natural beauty, which they even called "phenomenal."
