Rabiya Mateo shared some details about her struggles before going onstage to show her Miss Philippines National Costume for Miss Universe 2021.

In her Instagram live video, Rabiya shed tears as she shared that she accidentally cut her finger while putting on the enormous costume and her stockings got splattered with her blood.
She added that she kept on fighting even if she was not given a chance to retouch her hair and makeup.
Despite these difficult experiences, Rabiya said that she did her best in presenting her national costume onstage. She also apologized to those who got disappointed with her national costume stage performance.

"I'm so sorry kung na-disappoint man kayo sa akin but I know na I did my best I even cut my finger earlier ang yung stockings ko puno ng dugo…
"But I keep fighting kahit wala ng oras and wala ng enough time to retouch my hair, to retouch my makeup. Like I was there, I was running for pin, i was running for scissors.. for everything just to be able to execute the costume really well," Rabiya explained.
