'Ang Probinsyano' director Toto Natividad dies from COVID-19 complications

Federico "Toto" Natividad has passed away at the age of 63 after suffering from complications due to COVID-19. His death was announced to the public by the mayor of Navotas City, Toby Tiangco on his Facebook page.

"Isa na namang masipag na serbisyo publiko at matapat na katuwang ng pamahalaang lungsod sa paglaban sa pandemya ang nawala sa atin. Ikinalulungkot po nating ibalita ang pagpanaw ni Kap. Toto Natividad, punong barangay ng North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) Kaunlaran. "

Natividad who is a veteran director also worked as the barangay chief in North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) Kaunlaran in Navotas City. According to Tiangco, even though Natividad is already a senior citizen, he did not stop being an active frontliner in his barangay.

Just recently, his family made a gofundme fundraising account for the director in order to ask for financial assistance for his hospital bills. According to the fundraising page, Natividad was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and renal failure which was why he had to be intubated and undergo dialysis.

"On April 20th Direk Toto had difficulty breathing He was rushed to Navotas Gen Hospital. They were struggling to put his oxygen levels up that he had to be intubated. With the increase in COVID-19 patients in the metro there were no available hospitals that can accommodate him so he had been transferred to Green City Med Center at San Fernando, Pampanga which was the only hospital that is willing to accommodate him."

"He is still in the ICU and currently intubated. The diagnosis of his Pulmonologist is Severe Covid Pneumonia. He also suffered from Cytokines storm and acute Renal Failure. Haemoperfusion is needed to clean his blood of the toxins and dialysis as well to help kick-start his kidneys."

Navotas City Mayor Tiangco sent his condolences to his family and loved ones and expressed his grief for losing a wonderful, hardworking public servant.
