Some prominent personalities, including Pokwang, could not help reacting to the viral video of a Grab rider barred from delivering lugaw in Bulacan.

In the said video, the rider named Marvin Ignacio can be heard discussing with a lady barangay official who insisted that lugaw is not an essential good.

"Para sa private establishments, essential goods and services. Essential po ba si lugaw? Hindi kasi mabubuhay ang tao nang walang lugaw. Ang essential, tubig, gatas, groceries,” the woman asserted.

Celebrities then took to social media to take a swipe at the woman’s remark.

“so ate kung para iyo e hindi po essential ang lugaw, ano po siya? luho lang? Hahahhaaa kakalerki!!! #lugawessential,” Pokwang wrote on Twitter.

“Lumabas na sa news: ang 'LUGAW' ay 'ESSENTIAL'! Stop the hate, don't demonize,” singer-songwriter Richard_Poon posted on Facebook.

“Stop the discrimination against Lugaw. Rice is life. Don’t be rice-ist. #justice4lugaw #wewillriceabovethis (In response to the viral video not allowing lugaw delivery because lugaw isn’t food or essential),” television host and journalist James Deakin penned on Facebook.

"Sarap ng Dinner ko Lugaw pero di daw essential eh...” James Ronald Obeso, half of popular comic duo Moymoy Palaboy, shared on Facebook.

She also took a swipe at a basher who questioned her frequent social media posts. Pokwang has been vocal recently in expressing her thoughts on the ongoing pandemic.
