Bautista’s camp also said Kwaonhar’s claim that Kakai ‘improperly exploited’ and issued ‘false statements’ about Mario Maurer and his group reeks of libel, which is a crime under Philippine laws.

The management and legal team of Kakai also expressed alarm and shock at how a private letter, which damages the image and reputation of their client, would find its way to the Philippine media.

The statement also clarified that Kakai only shared her experiences with the Thai actor and she did not engage in any falsehoods.

“The truth of the matter is that any and all factual allegations of our Client as to her experience, connection, and communication with Mr. Maurer and the latter’s team are only based on truthful occurrences as substantiated by evidence and done without any malice or bad faith on her part,” the statement read.

In the latter part of the statement, Kakai’s management and legal team questioned the identity of the individual who introduced himself as the legal counsel of Kwaonhar Nine Nine Co., Ltd.

The cease and desist letter came from Kwaonhar Nine Nine Co., Ltd., the agency that handles the career of Mario. The said letter revealed that it has reached the agency that Kakai was allegedly using Mario's name in several interviews.
