Rey Valera has revealed the real reason why he left ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime. The composer is regarded as an icon of the Philippine music industry, with many hit songs and awards to his name.
According to Rey, he left It’s Showtime not because of any personal reason but rather it was a choice that he never considered as betrayal to ABS-CBN.
He also said that he is not exclusive to any network, which is why his leaving cannot be called disloyalty.
“Hindi personal, nagiging personal because iyong attachment mo with them. Pero sa istasyon, hindi. It’s the people who you cling to,” the famous composer said.
One major factor why he left and transferred to TV5’s Sing Galing is because many of the people he has worked with over the years are there.
Sing Galing is a reality and singing show that provide viewers with an entertaining and fun bonding experience for anyone who enjoy singing.
The show’s battle cry is “kantawanan para sa lahat,” or a dose of laughter, music, and fun for everyone.

Tawag ng Tanghalan is an amateur singing competition that airs as a segment of the noontime program It's Showtime on ABS-CBN. This segment currently airs in Kapamilya Channel and a simulcast in Jeepney TV and A2Z every Mondays to Saturdays. Dubbed as "your all time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents," the competition is open to Filipino contenders from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and overseas. The segment first aired on January 2, 2016, and has aired five regular seasons, one kids edition, one celebrity edition and one all-star edition.
TNT, like many other amateur contests, had its own share of issues. In September of 2019, the segment was heavily criticized on social media because of the low score that the judges gave to a wild card contestant. A lot of netizens criticized the hurados because of what happened.
One month after, popular comedian Ate Gay took to Facebook to express his frustration about a gig on a popular ABS-CBN program. The comedian revealed that he was suddenly dropped from the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of “It’s Showtime.” He said that he got sad because he was dropped from the segment without getting an explanation.
