Bea Alonzo, when asked who among her leading men courted her in real life, said she does not toy around with her past leading men.
The answer she gave, however, appears to have a deeper meaning and seems like an allusion to someone or something.
In an interview with Ethel Booba for her YouTube channel, the “One More Chance” star first recalled the names of her past leading men.
Among the names she mentioned were Derek Ramsay, Sam Milby, and John Lloyd Cruz. “Leading man? Teka isa-isahin nga natin. Si derek hindi. Si sam, definitely hindi. Si john Lloyd, hindi naman naging kami. Si... Parang wala! Wala! Kasi kahit si paolo. Uy si paolo sobrang lapit nun sa akin hanggang ngayon,” Bea replied.
“Wala talaga?” Ethel pressed. It was at this point that the actress dropped another bombshell, which appeared like an innocent answer.
“Baka hindi ako mahilig makipag-landian sa katrabaho,” the immortal ‘Basha’ answered.
She said that while Zanjoe Marudo, her ex-boyfriend, was her leading man in “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” they became a couple five or six years after they did the movie. Bea clarified that it was not because they worked on the same project together.
One can notice, however, that Bea did not include the name of Gerald Anderson when she enumerated her leading men.
Bea and Gerald played leading roles in “How to Be Yours” in 2016 and were rumored to be dating from then on.
They confirmed their relationship as a couple in 2018, though it would be short-lived as they broke up the following year.
It was among the most controversial stories at the time as 2019 was also the year when Gerald and Julia Barretto were together in Japan for their movie “Between Maybes.”
At this time, rumors floated that Gerald was very close with Julia and speculations about the real score between them arose.
As the old adage would say, when there is smoke, there is fire, and soon, the bubble burst. Subsequently, Bea posted what appeared like a breakup announcement on social media.
“You can’t make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a choice. ENOUGH,” the actress wrote.
So, while the answer of Bea to the question of Ethel may seem innocent to the uninitiated, it becomes clearer when history is traced.
