Angelu de Leon reacted to the viral music video of “Paubaya”, which featured former love team Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto.

During the virtual presscon of Viva for Angelu, the veteran actress shared that she found JoshLia’s music video cute and thought that she and Bobby Andrews should have done it too.
“Merong nagpaubaya, di ba? Ang cute. Alam mo, naaliw ako du’n. Para sa akin, ‘Dapat ginawa namin yon ni Bobby,” she said laughing.
Angelu and Bobby were among the popular actors in the ‘90s, and their love team was the equivalent of KathNiel, LizQuen, and JaDine today. However, unlike the modern love teams, they were not romantically involved with each other.

The actress said that she could also relate with JoshLia’s fans while watching the video. She also opened up how she can now appreciate how their love team’s fans felt about them before.
“Marami na talagang love teams na, I mean, it brings joy even me watching them. Parang, ‘Oh my gosh, ganito pala ang nararamdaman ng mga fans namin dati!’ Parang ganu’n,” she added.
According to Angelu, she researched Joshua and Julia’s love story after watching their viral music video. She said that she got impressed at how the two chose to give way for each other in the video.
“I mean, they’re very strong in a sense na to do that kind of thing. It was very personal na parang… ang galing nila.
“Ang galing nilang dalawa to be able to do that because, to some, magtatago na lang yan. But for them, it was a closure,” she reacted.
Angelu is hoping that after what happened, the two can remain friends.

In the same interview, Angelu also revealed that their age gap could have been the reason why she and Bobby did not date each other back then.
“Maybe it would have been a different situation if our age are a little bit closer,
“Talagang there was really age gap and siguro dati hindi yon pansin ng tao. Pero you know, it was a factor.” she said.
