Agot Isidro vented her ire on social media about the recent move of Smart Communications to get Chris Evans as its endorser.
The actress, who is known for her anti-administration stance, is also asking the giant telecommunications company whether getting endorsers like Evans helps increase their subscribers.
“Hindi ko na naiintindihan, Smart. Nakakarami ba talaga ng subscribers ang mga endorsers na yan?” she asked.
Smart made waves recently when it announced it is getting the foreign celebrity to endorse its products and services.
Chris Evans is among the most popular actors in the United States, with a string of movies to his name.
He is best known, however, for his portrayal as Steve Rogers and Captain America in the movie with the same title and in the “Avengers” franchise. His last appearance in the franchise was in “Avengers: Endgame.”
His immense popularity, plus his role in Captain America and Avengers as someone who wants a better world, is perhaps among the reasons why Smart decided to make Evans the face of its “Live Smarter for a Better World.
It is not entirely clear why Agot is training her guns on Smart. Some netizens assume that it could be because the giant communications firm is getting foreigners to endorse its brand.
