Duterte dares Robredo to shop for COVID-19 vaccines outside PH

- President Rodrigo Duterte recently challenged Vice President Leni Robredo anew

- This was after Robredo backed the doctors’ plea to have Sinovac Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccines undergo further reviews

- The said vaccines donated by the Chinese government arrived in the Philippines on February 28

- Duterte then slammed Robredo’s call and dared her to do vaccine shopping outside the country

President Rodrigo Duterte had a rant on Vice President Leni Robredo following the latter’s call for further reviews on Chinese government-donated vaccines made by Sinovac Biotech.

In a report by Rappler, the first batch of COVID-19 vaccines from Sinovac arrived in the country on February 28.

Robredo then backed the doctors’ plea to have the said brand of vaccine undergo an evaluation from the government-based Health Technology Assessment Council before they can be administered to health workers starting this week, as per CNN Philippines’ report.

In his pre-recorded briefing, Duterte slammed Robredo’s call and dared her to do vaccine shopping outside the country.

"Ganito na lang, sabihin ko sa’yo uli kung marunong kang makinig: walang bakuna ngayon available either hingiin mo, nakawin mo, or bayaran mo. Not only the Philippines, as stated by… earlier binigyan tayo ng worldwide situation ng vaccines… hirap rin sila.”
“Ngayon kung gusto mo talaga para mahinto ka, kunin mo ‘yong basket mo, mamalengke ka doon sa labas ng bakuna. Bigyan kita pera, para kung may mabili ka bilhin mo na agad at umuwi ka dito sa Pilipinas, bigay mo doon sa mga doktor.”

According to Inquirer.net, the President likewise claimed that Robredo only wants to be relevant by appearing concerned over frontliners.
