Doris Bigornia made headlines last week when she got hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.
Because of her heart condition, the well-known journalist had to undergo open-heart surgery.
According to her daughter, Nikki Bigornia, her 55-year-old mother’s open-heart surgery is successful and she is now recovering.

"Natapos na po ang surgery niya nung isang araw at successful po ito. Subalit, patuloy po kaming humihingi ng inyong mga dasal para sa tuluy-tuloy na recovery ni mommy,” Nikki tweeted.

Nikki also expressed her gratitude to everyone who prayed and offered words of encouragement for Doris and her family.
“Ako rin po at ang aming pamilya ay nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat. Dahil nabigyan niyo po kami ng lakas at pag-asa. Mahal na mahal namin kayo,” she wrote.

Doris Bigornia, who is also dubbed as Mutya ng Masa, is a well-known broadcaster in the Philippines.
She is also a field reporter on the ABS-CBN news program “TV Patrol” and a co-host on the DzMM teleradyo show “SRO” with Alvin Elchico.
