Pres. Duterte mulling over possibility of putting entire PH under MGCQ by March

- Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is now weighing the pros and cons of the possibility of putting the entire Philippines under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) by March

- Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque revealed this during Tuesday's briefing

- He said that the President is studying it at the moment and will be discussing it with Cabinet officials in the next Cabinet meeting

- The Inter-Agency Task Force supported the recommendation of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and it will be discussed with the President on the 22nd

The President is already mulling over the recommendation of NEDA to place the entire country under MGCQ, the most lenient form of movement restriction in the country.

As per Roque, in Manila Bulletin's report, NEDA noted that more people died from other illnesses due to hunger and/or other diseases over coronavirus illness.

The overall MGCQ is also the bid of NEDA to save people from hunger amid the pandemic.

The President said that he will not allow ABS-CBN to operate even if the network is granted a new franchise by Congress. Dee tweeted that Duterte should wake up and realize that he should prioritize solving poverty. He added that ABS-CBN continues to serve people despite not having a franchise.
