Coronavirus warning: Doctors see long-term COVID-19 effects in young ones

- Doctors are warning the public that they have seen some long-lasting effects on coronavirus patients especially young ones

- The patients have already recovered from the illness but they exhibited some lasting side effects

- Malaise and difficulty breathing were among the effects that doctors see, with a number of patients becoming bedridden

- Some patients became bedridden even though that they only suffered from a mild case of COVID-19

Doctors in Japan are seeing worrisome cases of COVID-19 patients who exhibited lasting effects.

According to an ABS-CBN report, among the after-effects that they have seen in recovered COVID-19 patients were difficulty breathing and malaise.

What baffled doctors the most is that there were those who displayed after effects despite the fact that they only had mild cases of COVID-19. Worse, some of them ended up bedridden thereafter.

"Most of them are in their 40s or younger. The government needs to take the issue seriously and implement countermeasures," one of the doctors of the study said in Japan Times.

The COVID-19 outbreak started out in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Scientists believed that the virus came from an animal at one of Wuhan's wet markets. The Philippines has slowly eased quarantine measures and Filipinos are starting to adapt to the new normal.

In the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte admitted that the country is losing so much because of the pandemic. He stated that the country is losing to the tune of P2 billion per day. He then highlighted the factors that contribute to the economic downturn, particularly the continued physical distancing and the limited transportation operations. The president also noted that the economy is really in bad shape and that the country is suffering.
