Jodi Sta. Maria reminisces ‘Tabing Ilog’ days in Pagsanjan tour

Jodi Sta. Maria visited Pagsanjan, Laguna for her latest vlog and went back to the sites where her first major television series was shot for four years.

On January 30, Jodi posted a new travel vlog, and this time, she visited the “Tabing Ilog” set location. The actress revealed that it has been a long time since she last stepped into the said municipality.
“Nai-excite ako kasi it’s been more than 15 years since ‘yung huli akong nakatapak sa Pagsanjan, Laguna.
“And ngayon, hindi ko alam kung ano ang i-expect ko, kung pareho pa rin ba ‘yung lugar, pareho pa rin ba ‘yung mga bahay na pinag-shoot namin, or nagbago na..” said Jodi.
The Kapamilya actress was excited to reach the place. She visited the houses where their characters’ were residing in the series. Since she could not enter them, she just showed the facades of their old homes.
She even had a chat with someone whose house used to be one of the sets. The actress also showed her viewers around the places and street corners where the “Tabing Ilog” characters used to talk or hang out.

Of course, she did not miss the opportunity to visit the river where their famous dock was. However, it was not there anymore. She mentioned that it used to be carried by the river’s current whenever there was too much rain.
Jodi also pointed out some of the popular places in Laguna upon arrival. One was the Pagsanjan Arch (Arco Real), which signifies entry to the town proper and is among the last standing arcs from the Spanish period. Another was the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church which was also originally built by the Spaniards.
She also mentioned the Devil’s Cave, Japanese Garden, Caliraya Lake, Lumban (Embroidery Capital of the Philippines), and Paete (Carving Capital of the Philippines).
“Tabing Ilog” was a teen drama series that aired from March 1999 to October 2003 on ABS-CBN. Aside from Jodi, it was top-billed by Kaye Abad, John Lloyd Cruz, Paolo Contis, Desiree del Valle, Baron Geisler, Patrick Garcia, and Paula Peralejo.
