Arianne Caoili, one of the country's finest Filipina chess players passed away on March 31, after she succumbed to the injuries that she sustained from a car crash on March 15.
Inquirer reported that Arianne is the wife of Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian.
Levon took to Twitter and expressed his grief over Arianne's passing, describing her to be an intelligent, hardworking and joyous individual.
He called her "honeybun" and expressed his love for her.
In his other tweets, the grandmaster surely showed how he adores his wife.
As per Rappler, Arianne was described by the United Queens Chess Club as "one of the greatest Filipina chess players our country has ever had."
Chess24 mentioned that Arianne played chess for the Philippines and for Australia in seven Women's Chess Olympiads.
