Omar Vincent Duterte, the grandson of President Rodrigo Duterte, has stirred buzz in the online community after posting a public apology to the grocery store he recently visited.
It can be recalled that netizens have recently called out the 26-year-old son of Paolo Duterte after he went to a grocery store and refused to follow the store's protocol due to COVID-19.
KAMI learned that Omar has finally addressed the said issue in a lengthy online post on his social media account.
According to his post, he initially did not want to wash his hands before entering the store as they were already wearing gloves and have already observed proper hand sanitization.
However, according to Omar, the staff of the said store insisted that they still follow the protocol, "The staff of SnR even insisted we enter due to them seeing we already had put on gloves and followed proper hand sanitation."
Furthermore, in his post, Omar also apologized for buying liquor at that time and said it was for his wedding anniversary with his wife.
The said post also elicited reactions from netizens on social media.
"It’s not about the wedding anniversary! It’s all about the protocol that you should have followed!"
"He is not being blamed for celebrating his anniversary. He is being blamed for breaking protocol!"
